Meet is Jesse and Russel. Two skater boys, local to Burlington, Vermont. I collaborated with photographer Alessandra Lucette while I worked as the concept and creative director, as well as the makeup artist and stylist. The goal behind this shoot was to simply get these boys comfortable with femininity. Something the skate culture lacks is a connection to femininity which is why it tends to be a male dominated culture. As skating begins to welcome women, I wanted these boys to be able to embrace their innate femininity and show comfort in it. I personally feel the transformative experience of drag can be a helpful way of getting comfortable in your own skin and I used this as a tool for this photoshoot.
